Donald William was born on August 10, 1932, at Inwood, the son of Walter and Alvira (Klein) Katt. He was raised at Inwood, where he graduated from high school.

On May 1, 1951, he married June D. Moen in Luverne, Minnesota. They made their home in Sioux Falls and Aberdeen, South Dakota, Alton, and Humboldt. In October of 2018, they settled in Orange City.

“Don” was a salesman for J. I. Case at the Case Implement Dealer in Alton and for hydraulics at Pedersen-Sells in Fort Dodge.

Don loved gardening and was always willing to lend a hand with any yard work. Over the years, he also kept busy with other hobbies, including collecting toy tractors, completing puzzles, and enjoying vacations.

He made new friends wherever he went, and his ability to connect with others left people feeling appreciated and known. Most of all, he treasured and celebrated his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Katt, and a sister, Elaine Osvog.
