MaryAnn was welcomed into this world on January 1, 1949, in Spencer, the daughter of Luverne and Agnes (Berg) Vierow. She was raised in Spencer, where she attended the Catholic School through the eighth grade and graduated from the Spencer High School. She also attended Northwestern College in Orange City.

She was introduced to her future husband, Roger, at his family’s drive-in, by a family friend. They were united in marriage on November 28, 1975. They made their home in Hospers, where she was a homemaker and worked many different jobs after the kids started school.

MaryAnn was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, making many of her girls’ clothes when they were younger, camping at Cutty’s, spending time with her family, and dachshunds, shopping, and collecting.

She is survived by her husband of more than 44 years; three children, Shayla Ewoldt, of Hospers; Paula, and her husband, Kevin Hodgson, of Le Mars; and Aaron Ewoldt, and his wife, Amanda, of Vermillion, South Dakota; five grandchildren, Daniel Ewoldt, Isabell, Katelyn and Charlette Hodgson, and Arvella Ewoldt; a sister, Karen Oleson, of Spirit Lake; a brother, Ed Vierow, of Royal; two brothers-in-law, Larry Ewoldt, of Wellborn, Florida, and Kenneth Ewoldt, of Fostoria; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and stepfather, Elmer Vierow, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kyla Ewoldt; and a sister-in-law, Judy Pyle.

Memorials may be directed to Hope Haven in Rock Valley.
