Obituary for Jordan Lee Gritters

Mr. Jordan Gritters, age 18, son of Brian and Denise Gritters, of Hull, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, in a motor vehicle accident near Boyden.

There will be a funeral service on Saturday, February 29, at 10:00am, at the Hull Protestant Reformed Church. The Rev. James Laning will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation will be after 5:00pm on Friday, with the family present from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at the church.

Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Jordan Lee was born on May 5, 2001, in Sioux Center, the youngest of seven children born to Brian and Denise (Moore) Gritters. He grew up in Hull and attended the Hull Protestant Reformed Christian School through the eighth grade. He graduated from the Trinity Christian High School in Hull where he played on the school’s basketball and golf teams and participated in the student council. In the fall of last year, he enrolled at the Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon as part of their Automotive and Light Duty Diesel Technology program.

He was a confessing member of the Hull Protestant Reformed Church and a participant in the church’s Junior Adult Bible Study.

Jordan’s natural mechanical ability and interest in how things worked was evident from an early age. He was always willing to lend a hand wherever he could and would often help take care of his nieces.

He will be deeply missed by his mother and father; five sisters, Michon, and her husband, Levi Alsum, of Randolph, Wisconsin; Brittany Gritters, of Hull; Shantelle, and her husband, Jordan De Boer, of Hull; Rebecca Gritters, of Hudsonville, Michigan; and Nicole, and her husband, Jordan Kooima, of Hull; a brother, Gregory Gritters, and his wife, Rochelle, of Jenison, Michigan; three nieces, Emma, Kaylie, and Makenzie De Boer; a nephew, Grayson Gritters; his paternal grandmother, Henrietta Gritters, of Hull; his maternal grandmother, Jannet Moore, of Holland, Michigan; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Egbert M. Gritters; and his maternal grandfather, Richard G. Moore.

Memorials may be directed to the Gritters Family.
