Mr. Henry Kleinhesselink, age 92, of Orange City, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Orange City Area Health System Long Term Care Facility.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 24, at 1:00pm, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. Pastor Bryan Dick will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. There will be a prayer service on Saturday, at 12:00noon, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Visitation will be after 2:00pm on Friday, with the family present from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, at the funeral home.

Henry William was born on December 17, 1916, in rural Alton, the son of John J. and Johanna (Mouw) Kleinhesselink. He was raised on a farm northeast of Orange City, where he attended a country school.

On February 3, 1939, he married Hattie Nibbelink in rural Orange City. They farmed northeast of town until 1979, when they semi-retired into Orange City. He then worked part time in the maintenance department of K-Products for a few years. In 2000, they moved to the Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community in Orange City, and in December of 2006, he transferred to the Long Term Care Facility.

Mr. Kleinhesselink was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed family gatherings, especially when he could visit with his grandchildren. He liked going to the Orange City Adult Activity Center, where he shot pool and played cards, and he spent time trapping.

Survivors include his wife of more than seventy years; five children and their spouses, Jo and Perry Van Gorp, of Sioux Center; Helen and Pete Pals, of Orange City; Harlan and Diane Kleinhesselink, of Alton; Larry and Pat Kleinhesselink, of Sheldon; and Norma and Kevin Ward, of Iowa City; fifteen grandchildren and their spouses, Barb Van Gorp, Karen and Darryl Ten Pas, Steve Van Gorp (fiance' Anzur); Robin and Doug Rylaarsdam, Kay and Jeff Joiner, Janet and Virg Kiel, Jeanine and Robert Oolman, Michael and Kay Kleinhesselink, Lori and Joe Pohlen, Kevin and Staci Kleinhesselink, Trisha and Ryan Cannoy, Justin Kleinhesselink, Phil Ward, Greg Ward, and Mark Ward; thirty great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson; two sisters, Burdean Huitink, of Larchwood; and Alma, and her husband, Milt Bogaard, of Orange City; a sister-in-law, Dorella Kleinhesselink, of Sioux Center; and Hattie's family, a brother and his wife, Bernie and Hazel Nibbelink, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Nibbelink, all of Sioux Center.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe R. Kleinhesselink, and a brother-in-law, Charles Huitink.
